About

StatuMentis is a Mental Performance & Behavior Agency. We work with professional footballers, clubs, and organizations to build the mental systems that elite performance demands.

Our Mental Performance & Behavior (MPB) Agents bring Masters and PhD level psychological knowledge into the performance arena — not the therapy room. The mind is a muscle. We train it with the same precision, rigor, and expert knowledge applied to the body. Clinical depth. Practical application. Built for competition.

CHRISTIAN GRIFFIN

Co-Founder & COO

Christian is a former U.S. Army Major and West Point graduate. Across a sixteen-year career he served more than 33 months in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, later coordinating NATO multinational operations during the withdrawal from Afghanistan and advising senior leadership at the onset of the war in Ukraine.

He left the Army to build StatuMentis into a scalable company — bringing operational discipline and systems thinking from elite military environments into the infrastructure of a world-class performance agency.

Our Approach

The mind is a muscle. We train it.

At the elite level, an athlete's body and technical ability are as finely tuned as a Formula 1 race car. Strength, speed, tactical precision — these are developed through years of deliberate, structured training under expert guidance.

Yet the mind — the system that controls every decision, every reaction, every moment of clarity or collapse under pressure — is too often left to chance.

StatuMentis was built to change that.

Mental Performance & Behavior. Not mental health.

The conversation around mental performance in sport has become dominated by a single lens — mental health. And that lens, however important for those who need it, has created an unintended consequence: it has made working on the mind feel like an admission of something being wrong.

It isn't.

The vast majority of athletes we work with are mentally healthy, high-performing individuals operating in some of the most demanding environments on earth. Being nervous before 50,000 people is not a disorder — it's human. Fear of making a mistake is not a diagnosis — it's normal. The question is never what is wrong with you. The question is how do we build the mental systems that let you perform through it.

That is mental performance & behavior. And it is a discipline entirely its own.

Where we sit.

Therapy heals. Coaching develops. Mental performance & behavior optimization operates in a different space entirely.

We sit at the intersection of clinical psychology and elite sport — translating deep, graduate-level psychological knowledge into practical tools that function at the speed of competition. In the dressing room. On the pitch. Under pressure. In real time.

This isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about building what's possible in a healthy, high-performing mind.

That work has always existed informally — in exceptional coaches, in experienced captains, in the rare psychologist who truly understands sport. StatuMentis makes it intentional, structured, and accessible.

the standard we hold

Every StatuMentis MPB Agent holds a Masters or PhD level qualification in psychology. They understand the clinical landscape deeply — which is precisely why they know where performance work ends and clinical intervention begins.

For the rare cases where clinical support is needed, we refer. We have the knowledge to identify it and the professional responsibility to act on it. But that is the exception, not the rule.

What we bring to every athlete, every session, every program is this: clinical-grade psychological knowledge, applied with the precision of sport science and the discipline of military execution — translated into tools that work now, in competition, under the highest pressure.

Train the mind. Optimize the performance. No diagnosis required.
